Maureen Hartigan, WPF Foundation

You can create a philanthropic legacy with a gift from your estate to the Women’s Professional Forum Foundation (WPFF). This thoughtful act could be the largest and most lasting one-time gift you make to WPFF.

When you make a legacy gift to the Women’s Professional Forum Foundation, you become a member of the Maureen Hartigan Legacy Circle. Legacy gifts are a timeless, enduring statement of your commitment to pass on leadership skills, wisdom, and a boldness that comes from the heart to empower women and girls.

Maureen was a member of the Women’s Professional Forum until her death in 2014. She served as our Foundation President in 2007 and 2008. Maureen brought structure to everything she was involved in, including the WPF Foundation.

Volvo Trucks recognized Maureen’s ability as a focused leader and brought her to Greensboro to manage the company’s merger with White and GM Trucks. She earned her Masters at UNCG and established Maureen Hartigan Associates offering consulting in the areas of strategy, communications, and team-building. Her work impacted many organizations and nonprofits, including Barnabas Network and the Women’s Resource Center.

Under Maureen’s guidance, the Foundation moved forward on its path of continued growth in resources and capability, including management of our endowment by the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro.

A smart and talented professional, Maureen was a pioneering risk-taker with a generous heart. She demonstrated courage, compassion and confidence and encouraged these traits in others. As an outspoken champion with a knack for recognizing the strengths in other women, Maureen embodied a willingness to support the advancement of others.

Maureen was a philanthropic leader. From her volunteer activities to providing for WPF in her estate, Maureen led by example. In joining the Maureen Hartigan Legacy Circle, you are continuing a distinguished legacy of caring.
