Service to Others
Our new SIG will host its first opportunity at The Family Room. The mission of this nonprofit is to love, encourage and support families who foster and the children in their care. They provide resources include clothing, toys, beds, diapers, wipes, and formula. The goal is to never have a family have to say no to a placement because they don’t have what the kids need. Service to Others
Service to Others will be working in the Healing Gardens at the Cone Health Cancer Center on the Wesley Long Hospital campus. The gardens provide peace and respite for cancer patients and their families as well as hospital staff and visitors. Our next project will be assisting children in a banjo making activity at the well-known Dunleath Porchfest. The Dunleath Porchfest is a unique event in which neighbors offer their porches as stages and musicians volunteer their talents. Guests stroll from house to house enjoying performances in a festival like atmosphere. Dunleath Porchfest has become recognized by many as a grassroots event that celebrates performing arts, a sense of community and goodwill, and local history. To join us in the banjo…
