Books and Arts

September 6, 2018 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

The primary activity for Books and Arts for September will focus on the N.C. Folk Festival, September 7-9, in downtown Greensboro.

“Songs of Hope & Justice,” the pre-festival celebration hosted by Laurelyn Dossett, on Thursday evening, September 6th at 8 p.m. in the Van Dyke Performance Space in the Cultural Arts Center.  In addition to Laurelyn Dossett, performers will include Rhiannon Giddens and other celebrated artists who will be part of the festival.

Tickets for this event are $25 and can be purchased through https://thevandyke.org/event/songs-of-hope-justice/.  Space is somewhat limited in the Van Dyke Performance  Space and the expectation is that tickets will sell out quickly.  If you would like to join your WPF friends for this event, go online and purchase your ticket, then contact either Kris Landrum, klandrum@tuggleduggins.com or Michele Smith, msmith@hillevans.com.

We plan to make dinner reservations for 6 pm that evening for any of the group who plan to attend the concert and want to join us, so we need to know if you want to be included in that group.  Since the seating is “open,” we will hope to go from dinner to the performance in time to find seats together.
